Plumbing wears out clothing in a very specific pattern: knees first, then the seat, then wherever the tool belt sits. It is a kneeling, crouching, reaching-into-a-cavity trade, and the garments that last are the ones built for that rather than for standing on a site all day.

So the range here is weighted toward knee-reinforced and double-layer pants, and toward stretch panelling — the single most useful feature for a trade that spends the day in postures a straight-leg drill pant fights.
