Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Trade and industrial work broadly, with construction, mining, electrical, plumbing, landscaping and carpentry the ones it turns up on most, and plenty of adjacent work besides.

The more useful thing to know is that the range is not one kind of garment. Something you would happily wear on a domestic job and something made for a named hazard carry the same brand while doing very different work, so the job you are doing decides what you need rather than the badge on the chest.

Tops, shirts and jackets run XS to 6XL. Shorts, pants and overalls are sized on the waist, from 72 through to 132, and come in regular, stout and long.

Stout and long are not bigger sizes. They are the same waist with the seat or the leg cut differently, so the waist number you already know stays put and only the shape around it changes.

No, and they answer different problems. High visibility is about being seen: fluorescent fabric for daylight, and retroreflective tape where the work carries on after dark. Protective clothing is about being shielded from a named hazard, and that comes from the fabric itself rather than from the colour of it. A garment can do one of those jobs without doing the other.

Which is why nothing at range level can tell you a garment is right for your job. Your workplace names what is required, through its own risk assessment and whatever you were told at induction, and whether a given style actually delivers it is stated on the individual product rather than on a page like this one.

Three cuts of the same garment rather than three sizes. Traditional is the most generous through the chest and body, Modern is trimmed down from it, and Active is the closest fitting of the three.

Take your usual size in whichever cut suits your build, rather than moving up or down a size to get the shape you are after. If you are torn between two fits, the more generous one is the easier buy, since you can live with a roomier shirt but you cannot make a tight one bigger.
