Farming is the highest sun exposure occupation in the country, and the clothing brief follows from that more than from any single hazard. Long days outdoors, no shade to speak of, dust, and a working week that does not really have an end — so the garments that matter are the ones you can wear covered up all day without overheating.

That is why this range carries more ventilated and lightweight styles than any other trade page on this site. Long-sleeve shirts with airflow panelling and light drill do the job that a t-shirt and sunscreen cannot: covering up is the most effective UV control there is, and a ventilated long sleeve is what makes covering up survivable in February. Stretch panelling runs deep for the sheer physical variety of the work, and ripstop is here for fencing, scrub and anything involving wire. Hi vis is available for machinery operation, contractor work and roadside paddocks.

Two notes. Fabric weight is the real decision on a farm — heavier drill lasts longer against wire and timber, lighter builds are what you will actually wear through summer, and most people end up owning both rather than compromising on one. And this page deliberately carries almost no flame resistant clothing; if you are doing hot work in the workshop, buy that from the flame resistant range specifically.
